Desafíos de la educación moral y ciudadana ante las tecnologías emergentes

La creciente brecha entre el acelerado desarrollo de nuevas, convergentes e invasivas tecnologías (genómica, robótica, inteligencia artificial, nanotecnologías, realidad aumentada, etc.) y los lentos procesos legislativos que deberían regularlas, puede encararse a través de regulaciones “suaves” o éticas, en las cuales los principios morales juegan un rol fundamental. Esto parece implicar la necesidad de esfuerzos dinámicos y generalizados en materia de educación moral y ciudadana, pero algunas tendencias recientes de la psicología moral han cuestionado el valor de los principios morales, del razonamiento moral y de la educación moral toda. En paralelo, el realce moral biotecnológico (edición genética, moléculas morales, implantes cerebrales, etc.) recibe creciente atención. Después de presentar una revisión esquemática de la psicología contemporánea de la educación moral, reafirmamos la importancia del razonamiento moral basado en principios, así como de una educación moral democrática que sea capaz de lidiar con la naturaleza altamente controversial de las tecnologías emergentes.
